Right from the early life of a child, parents and other people in the family and friend circles tend to shower innumerable advices as to what career will be best for the child in future. Parents come at a conclusion and start inculcating all the ideas about the selected career in child’s mind. This happens with ignoring the fact that whether the child is even a bit of interested in the chosen career for him or not. |
Well, this phenomenon is rooted in the fundamentals of our educational system. But emergence of absolutely new disciplines, behaviors and fields and their employment generation capacity is changing the existing mindset of the parents very fast.

It is wise to plan a career well in advance and a common question I asked by colleagues and friends is what are the actual differences between a Doctorate and a PhD? Are these degrees of equal length? Is a PhD considered to be of higher quality than a Doctorate?A PhD and a Doctorate are in many cases worth the same and can be considered approximately equal. |
The both require the same number of hours, normally 60 semester hours. The main difference is that the PhD dissertation is more theoretical, while the Doctorate is more practically based and applied.
If you are in a position where you need to make the choice of which to study then more often than not it is common sense. Go with the course that will suit your personality and style. If you have conducted yourself in a majority research role and want to stay on that path, go with the PhD, otherwise, take the Doctorate. This is a better option for those students who would like to ‘hit the ground running’ in the world-of-work before they actually start their post-doctorate job.

The latest craze to hit the world of academia is online learning. This opens up a campus to the rest of the free world. You could be in China and taking a course in the U.S. as all you need is a computer and an internet hookup. Many students taking online courses are also holding regular, 9-5 jobs. |
It can be a real crunch to achieve a balance so here are some ways you can make the grade:
1. Do one thing at a time. If your project has smaller lessons within it, try to knock the smaller assignments one at a time. This way you can be sure you do everything your course dictates and will allow you to learn the information in a more deliberate manner.
2. Stick to a schedule. Set aside about two hours a day where you can devote your time to your courses. Maybe you get up and do work before you go to your job or maybe you tend to your studies right when you get home from work. Whatever you feel is a dependable time you can turn to your studies stick to the schedule and make it a routine.

The college admissions essay can be quite a daunting and intimidating task for many aspiring college students. However, the college admissions essay does not have to be so bad. In all actuality though, it seems many colleges do favor an application essay which knocks them off their feet, but in that case, a book on writing essays may help with that task along with a LOT of practice. On the other hand, many colleges and universities just want to know more about YOU…while seeing how well you write. |
Colleges and universities WANT you to succeed. They want you to do well on the college admissions essay so they can accept you and make them look great! In order to help you along with this task, I have put together some tips to help all students along with their university admissions essays.
First thing I wanted to point out is that focusing and staying on a topic that you know about very well is key. This will show, through your writing, that you are very sincere and do not appear to be misleading anyone. Write what you now about.
Put a little bit of humor in your writing. Of course, the college application essay is not a stand up comedy routing, but a little humor helps show a more modest side to your self. Remember to stay on topic while modestly making light humor out of some of the subject matter in your college admissions essay topic.

If you are a college student, you are probably no stranger to stress. With constant deadlines, projects and exams-not to mention the demands of work and a social life-the pressure can be enough to incite both short-term and long-term stress. Chronic stress is not just an inconvenience. It initiates chemical changes in your body that can have a long term negative impact on your health and well-being. |
Stress can be caused by the demands of college, but can also stem from many other issues. Some major stressors are the death of a loved one, illness, loss of employment and divorce. Even happy events that reflect a major change in routine, such as marriage or a promotion, can be the root of stress. Whether attending college straight out of high school or returning to school later in life, many college students find themselves overwhelmed by the demands of balancing work and school. Even with the financial assistance of student loans or grants, it is often necessary for students to maintain employment during college in order to make ends meet and uphold financial responsibilities. |
Whether you work full time and are a part time student, or work part time and attend college school full time, it is too much for most people to do both full time. Being a part time student may cause you to spend longer completing your degree, but preventing overload will have a positive impact on both your grades and your work performance in the long run.
When you are juggling the multiple responsibilities involved with college and work, it is crucial to stay organized and know your schedule for each in advance. Simply feeling that you have a lot to do without having set aside the time to accomplish specific tasks can make your workload seem overwhelming, even when realistically you have plenty of time for everything. Know your work schedule at least a week or two in advance, as well as the projects, assignments and tests coming up in each of your classes. Then schedule time to cover all of your responsibilities, and stick to the schedule. If your study habits mainly consist of night-before cramming sessions, a new approach is critical when you have a work schedule to consider.
