In tough economic times, more students are graduating with little or no career prospects. Many of these graduates who cannot find jobs are starting to feel the pressure. Just six months after graduating, all those loans they had to take out to pay for their education are coming back to bite them.

Recently, I went searching for open positions related to my field of study (marketing and communications) for when I graduate in May. Even when searching through the countless positions on websites like Monster.com, most positions for my major requires years of prior experience. I also visited a college career fair, and most of the companies were not looking for business graduates, but were more interested in pharmacists. Unfortunately, four or five years of sitting through endless lectures and classes devoted to the very position they are seeking does not count toward any experience.

It may be the hardest thing in the world to make ends meet. And when you don’t even have a degree, it becomes a thousand times harder unless you have the looks to become a Hollywood actress, the non-conformist brains to become an unorthodox self made millionaire, or the right set of progenitors to ensure you a healthy inheritance when it’s their time to feel the scythe.

Many of us are not so fortunate, hence we have to take that difficult climb up the mountain of success that has many stumbling blocks that are worse than any avalanches or moments of supreme frostbite that beset any real mountaineers. And it’s not surprise that many fall by the wayside.

Many also realize that having a degree usually doesn’t even cut it either. Many of those who hold bachelors degrees in office settings usually end up as pawns of the higher ups, without fulfilling duties or any sort of independence. And those who live this way and refuse to adapt usually end up retiring this way-with a lot of employee of the month awards but with a life that’s filled with shades of regret for all that could have been.

Right from the early life of a child, parents and other people in the family and friend circles tend to shower innumerable advices as to what career will be best for the child in future. Parents come at a conclusion and start inculcating all the ideas about the selected career in child’s mind. This happens with ignoring the fact that whether the child is even a bit of interested in the chosen career for him or not.

Well, this phenomenon is rooted in the fundamentals of our educational system. But emergence of absolutely new disciplines, behaviors and fields and their employment generation capacity is changing the existing mindset of the parents very fast.
When the major economies of the world are getting liberalized, wide scopes have been generated for employment. New economies have accommodated new and unique work fields.

You know that all colleges can teach a subject to their students. You just have to attend the course and they will try to teach the course. Nobody will care if you actively participate at it. The only concern is that you are there with your body not particularly with your mind and concentration. Anybody can just teach something, but it takes real devotion to make sure that the students understand.

The days of the “good old boys” fire department is fast becoming history. With the advent of more scientific knowledge of fire behavior, college education has become the way to secure a firefighter job and a way to progress up the career ladder.

A degree in fire science will give you an edge when it comes time for job interviewing and testing. Advancement into officer positions will be easier with a degree in fire science.

An online degree program allows you to do your course work around your shift schedule. If you are interrupted while doing online work, it is still available 24/7. (sort of like a firefighter). As long as you have a computer, you can do your assignments. Some programs allow you to complete a bachelor’s degree in 24 months with an accelerated program.

Just when you’ve convinced yourself that majoring in a foreign language won’t doom your chances for a job after graduation, someone gives you second thoughts.”Try explaining to your father, a chemist with a PhD, that you not only want to major in English literature, but also French — with a writing concentration — at a liberal arts college,” says 24-year-old Jennifer Epting, a 2003 graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Epting stresses that both her parents have always supported her decisions, including this one. “But they were also very wary of the job opportunities I faced when I graduated,” she says.

They needn’t have worried. Epting is now happily employed as a development and communications associate at the French-American School of New York in Mamaroneck, where she writes the school’s French-English newsletter, communicates with francophone parents and faculty and translates French documents to English, among her many job duties. Sound designers are audio professionals responsible for everything an audience hears whether in live performances, film, television, radio or music recordings. They rely on their in-depth knowledge of acoustics, sound reproduction systems, sound editing tools and sound reinforcement techniques to give artistic direction, create sound effects and musical soundtracks.

They are used in the design of new facilities and are brought onboard during the post-production stage of a film to create a sound effect or soundtracks that will manipulate and/orenhance the narrative and thematic needs of the film. In theaters, the sound designer develops the soundrequirements of each new production, in much the same way as lighting designers.

The terms “engineer,” “technician” and “operator,” are often mistakenly interchanged. Part of the confusion may arise out of the project or event driven nature of the industry. A person may serve as a designer on one project, an engineer on another and an operator on still another. Engineers implement the sound design and define the technical conditions that must be met for the successful completion of a performance or an audio product.
